President Biden recently ended a Trump-era ban on green card processing abroad, but applicants are in for a long wait to have their green card approved.
The number of immigrant visa cases pending interviews at the National Visa Center (NVC) increased to 473,000 in February, from 75,000 in January 2020.
The State Department said it would be prioritizing green cards for spouses and children of U.S. citizens, including finance(e) visas not subject to COVID-19 travel bans. They're working to serve as many people as safely as they can to resolve this backlog.
