Immigrant applicants outside of the U.S. are usually involved in the following processes.
1. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS): USCIS oversees immigration to the United States and approves (or denies) immigrant petitions, and more.
2. National Visa Center: After your petition is approved, the National Visa Center (NVC) will assist you in preparing your visa application for an interview for certain visa categories at U.S. Embassies & Consulates.
3. U.S. Embassies and Consulates: a local U.S. Embassy or Consulate, nearest your residence abroad, is where you will apply and be interviewed for your U.S. visa.
